On the 10th of November 2011 Studio83 was awarded its first award for craft in the magazine category. The Bookmarks Awards were held in Cape Town, Green point - at Pigalle Restaurant. I didn’t do a speech or anything but I did pose with the awards with The Bookmarks Awards banner behind me.

I honestly don't know where to start thanking for this — I naturally get emotional when the magazine has been put to bed or when we have a good week on s83, content wise. I can't take all the credit for this award, there is a huge group of people who made this happen and supported s83 through and though. Those are the people that this award belongs to - im just the keeper. The proud moment was that we made it on our own terms - without any big corporation or something. Just love, effort, dedication and craft of course - we get better with every issue, every post, and every design. From me — thank you, for the support, dedication, the spelling grammar, low res pictures, the comments, the criticism, the faith in us, the dedication of the contributors, and the loyal visitors.
