New York Fashion Week began on a somber note due to the dreadful passing of Alexander McQueen. Making the news worse was the reports reached some of his closest friends while in attendance during the first shows. However things began to heat up in Midtown at Bryant Park, even The City was hit twice by a snowstorm in a matter of a few days. The winter wonderland (thanks to mother nature) was the perfect backdrop for the beautiful collections that were being and about to be presented by famed design houses.
Assemblage begging with BCBG by Max Azria all the way to the Arise African Fashion Collective who featured an All Star line up of super models of color (Chanel Iman, Sessile Lopez and Oluchi to name a few.) Designs for the Arise were by Black Coffee, Loins Cloths & Ashes and Deola Sagoe who seemed to be the fan fav. My personal and an absolute must have is a pastel colored coat by Black Coffee (designer.) A nice touch to mint greens and salmons for winter colored clothing.
Ok fashion lovers... In the true spirit of all things plush I bring you today's Fashion Friday and to say it is truly inspired by NYFW would be an understatement. Below are a few looks that were motivated by New York Fashion Week, Fall/Winter 2010. I carefully selected practical everyday wear and fit that would flatter and everyday woman. Enjoy!
