Like many other trends that were popularized in the late 70s/early 80s, the jumpsuit has found its way back into high fashion. And while the word jumpsuit can be an instant turn-off, they can actually be quite chic when worn properly. At Halston, models accessorized slinky jumpsuits with light and simple accessories and clutches. Stella McCartney, who has been known to include jumpsuits in her past collections, sent an interesting variation down the runway; a full suit in one piece, with a blazer and capri slacks connected together. Again, accessories were light and the shoes were simple.

Warning: There are a few simple tricks to pulling this look off--and weighing 99 pounds (45 kgs) is not one of them, ask Jennifer Hudson because this fuller figured beauty has pulled this trend off perfectly numerous times.

DON'T: Do head-to-toe pattern. Or any pattern, for that matter. Would you wear a floral top and floral pants at the same time? Then why would you wear an all-floral jumpsuit? Keep the 80s where they belong (in the past) and make this look modern by choosing solid colors, sophisticated fabrics, and an evening-appropriate aesthetic. Anything else will have much too juvenile a feel.

Still not convinced the jumpsuit can work for you? Choose one that has a forgiving fabric to conceal anything you don't feel 100% comfortable showing. Also opt for a darker colored fabric like the choice of this week look for Fashion Friday. Act like it's a tube top or a halter top with a great pair of pants, and you'll get a feel for what looks right.  In the meantime go out there and flaunt it because you have it.

DO: Wear a jumpsuit instead of a cocktail dress. If you treat it like an LBD, it can be one of the most versatile items in your wardrobe. The satin version above looks polished and pretty, especially with the addition of the metallic topper, it's such a refreshing alternative for evening. If you're not comfortable baring everything and looking like you're in a onesie, adding a belt or a blazer is the perfect way to help break up the look.

Happy Fashion Friday. Love Gugu Lethu

    Lebogang,

Her name is Liu Wen. Some argue it is not, however if you look at her earlier work or a lot of her beauty shots you will notice the the resemblance is too striking. You be the judge
