I’m a fan of Truelove magazine, don’t know why because I’m not their target market but i'm told that they are targeting 27 years old females ...so i thought i should do a mock up that suggest where Truelove should go, no?
Photography makes 80% of the cover so if the image is shit ... the chances are the cover will not work. Now if you have a brilliant image [like the one above] then you cover should be blazing whether the design is good or not. This is what i think TL should look like...
i did this in a rush i was between deadlines ...
it would place it in a different market, me thinks
i dig it though
i believe magazines need to be more simple these days on the cover
heres the thing though - TL is looking more like Move, the inside of the magazine is less glamourous ... cover story shoots are even worse.
i think because they're tryin to make their look for their market more clear
cos it may be black females, but it's hardly the ones that live in suburbia or the like
with a look like this, they'd need to change everything inside
i really dig Elle though, they're covers are awesome
but now the market they are targeting is 27 year old ... im not a guru or anything but women that age want sophistication [it matters not if they are in the hood or the burbs] - copmpare it to the the TL we know its not sophistacated enough
