Good morrow all
This track was originally written as a poem by Abel Meeropol - a Jewish high school teacher from the Bronx - about the lynching of 2 black men. It basically condemned American racism. Billie Holiday turned it into a song and put a melody to it. This woman's voice nje is haunting - the emotion that she puts behind each lyric.
And then my girl Nina Simone took a stab at it, and it turned out lovely of course.
But now, who do you think rocked it best? I will reserve my opinion for now - yes, I've already decided.
