Hello,

I have argued before that human existence with its "superior intelligence and opposable thumb" are nothing compared to the lifespan of a tree, the Baobab, which is at +/- 2000 years, yes, two-thousand-years.

My 2¢ philosophies aside, Rachel Sussman, has setup a project (The Oldest Living Things in the World) where she intends to document all (at best) living things in the world.  You can donate a few cents, rands, dollars or quids to help her out with the project, if you are so inclined.  You can also see where all of them are:

I just realised that the above shot of the baobab is similar to what Rudzani shot, I'd bet a few quids that it is the same tree.
