we think we got our mojo is back, im on another deadline but i thought it would be cool to squeeze in this concept cover for Celebrate Life ... did it in about 15 minutes ...
this is why i need someone else to design Celebrate Life ... i default to using lines at all times.

Nah, bra — there is no design in this: this is just a copy+past of the old cover.
Alas, I think you are right: get somebody else to design ALL the magazines. (that type, that layout, all the same on all your magazines) Problem is: I can replace: "celebrate life" with "marvin" or "studio83" and it would be the same results.
Your designs for each of these mags needs to vary (differentiation). You will have to dig deep to come out with something unseen, fresh, unheard...
I know people who can help you out with the designs, but you'd have to pay 'em.
But being that onesmallseed; wallpaper* are doing the design our 'cover' competition, you could ride the same wagon and ask for readers to contribute a design (that way you don't pay anybody)
