So im currently watching season 1 [lack of a better word] of Yizo Yizo - and the rawness of the series great. Yizo Yizo changed alot when it comes to South African media and since then there hasnt been anything that has matched the magnitude of Yizo Yizo. Teboho Mahlatsi is the man who directed it.
This is Teboho's showreel and im sure that you will recognize alot of ads that you've seen on tv.
Completing his film internship in 1993, Teboho wrote and directed many projects including the award-winning GHETTO DIARIES. In 1999, together with Angus Gibson, he wrote and directed the highly controversial 13 part series, YIZO YIZO - winning Best Director and Best Drama Series at the Avanti Awards - South Africa's equivalent of the Emmys.

Ya no, gwanyewa Boss!
This is such South African content. I wonder if he's ever gotten any jobs internationally. I love, appreciate and respect his work. He has moved with time since Yizo Yizo but kept the authenticity of who he initially told us he was from the get-go.
Chisa Boy!
Proudly South African!
Yizo Yizo was a trail blazer
