Good day all

laurynhill.jpg

So this is what's circulating as Lauryn Hill's new track. Which will mean it's only a matter of time until more comes out of Miss Hill - *we cross fingers...and toes...and anything else that might make the new Lauryn Hill come into being.

    hey hey hey now, GG
this is Lauryn Hill we're talking about
did you forget who that is?

  4. yeah but now she has never done a comeback before ... Sade is notorious for comebacks ... im just saying that we shouldnt count the eggs before they hatch - something something like that

  5. LMAO no doubt GG, i'm with you on that one but this leak aint bad at all.

    Hopefully she'll surprise us.

  6. im praying for a miracle - its the same as Whitney's come back - it wasnt a much of a come back - so we wait and see

Don't call it a comeback. I been here for years... had to say that, couldn't help it. GG this is Lauryn Hill, Whitney's voice was damaged Lauryn still has hers!

  8. True. im just saying ... so are you saying that Lauryn is better than Whitney? Whitney's failure to comeback didnt solely depend on her voice ...

  9. lmao.

Not saying she's better than Whitney and true it wasn't because of the voice alone, Whitney has been in the news for years for the wrong reasons without an album out. I think the negative press played a part, now take Ms Hill a very private person you hardly hear anything about her if it doesn't have anything to do with her music. Who else is like that, Who kept peoples fingers crossed... yep Sade!

  11. Lauryn's life was also out there - she was having babies and all - the reason people wanted her back is becoz of a lack of GOOD female MCs ... thats why people like Nicki Minaj are taking over ... she is everywhere

another reason is because Lauryn is not only one of the most prolific FEMALE mc's, but she puts a lot of n*ggas to shame too
look, it just comes down to this, Lauryn writes sick lyrics
she has a beautiful voice and her raps are dope
and every track she has done since her last release has been the Lauryn that we know and love
all that's left is our belief in her
and i have lots of it for Miss Hill
    (comebacks or not aside)

  14. She hasnt dropped anything since The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill (1998) ... thats 12 years ago ... alot of things happened in that time when she was not dropping anything

she dropped her MTV unplugged album
which was lyrically amazing, even though the delivery wasn't desirable to people (i didn't mind it)

  16. Amen! Similar to Whitney her lyrics were probably good but her delivery is another issue all together ...

Im not a Lauryn Hill fundi, however, comparing this song to her earlier (miseducation) work, i'd say this song is average. I am hoping its a warm up to something great, because i am a fan and i wanna see her come back hard. So im not mad at it, but am not impressed either.

As for her MTV album being lyrically amazing - err...i'll say this:that doesnt count for me.if i wanted amazing lyrics/words, id read a book. If a musician drops an album, i expect it to be amazing in the musical sense too. if that aspect is not present, its a fail for me.
