I have met too many people who have entertained the idea of running a magazine and I must say most of them had no clue or idea on running a magazine print or online.
Most of them think its a really cool idea and its another way to be famous and to be known by celebrities by your first name. Most people wanna do it for the free vip invites to cool events, rubbing sholders with celebrities, traveling and most importantly - to be able to say I'm the Editor of Such and Such magazine.
Being an editor comes with certain perks - you become a mini celebrity, you do things that "normal" people wouldn't do or rather wish to do, things like shoots, attending fashion weeks and meeting famous people.
Most people who have this dream and they forget that its more hard work than that, its more about telling stories and pushing the human kind forward.
