Good day all
I was rather sad to hear of Gil Scott Heron's passing. I remember being told by people who don't even know who he is and I suppose I've taken it for granted that I've been lucky enough to have been exposed to him all those years ago. My first meeting of Gil was with the poem "The Revolution will not be televised". I loved his voice. He commands such attention. I actually secretly wish I could've worked with him, recording some beautiful stuff with his beautiful, deep voice.
Anyway, when I watched this interview I was so inspired. He speaks such a truth and I'm posting this to like-minded people in the hopes that they spread this to not so like-minded people - so that we can elevate. I can't do much, but what I can, I will.

thanks for sharing this, before seeing the tweets about his death i had no idea who he was yet on many occasions i have recited his lines, the revolution will not be televised.
"Even if you got no job there is some shit you could be doing, because there is alot of thing that needs to be done" -
Gil is the truth ...
@seilatsatsi: i also used to hear that line a lot but wanted to know where it comes from. that's when i found out about Gil. i'm so sad i lost my album...
"If somebody ask's you for help and you can help them ... you are supposed to help them, why wouldn't you" - His tone just kills it, the humility
Amen.
