Mystery Vus and The Scribbler wrote…
“In a cloud of mystery and intrigue…” not sure who said that or if it’s just a humdrum cliché. This week’s love and devotion is dedicated to two of Studio83’s most popular fellas; Vus and The Scribbler. The two have waxed lyrical about a range of subjects, from the intellectual to the amusing. “Vus.ism” brings us his ever thought-provoking and transcendent fictional tales and social commentary. The Scribbler blends ingenious humour with cutting wit and daily observation into memorable pieces of writing. But behind the words who are these two gentlemen? I’ve been fascinated for a while about this.
What kind of guys are they? Are they the pleasant and shy friend of the obnoxious guy in the club, or are they the unflinching stare, serial killer type dudes in the club? Or are they just mysterious and pleasant fellas that write letters to their beloved? Are their thoughts a reflection of their real personality or are we reading pages of their closeted personas? Are they even men? One person?
I am however certain of this; the words and thoughts of whoever posts as Vus and The Scribbler are some of the highlights of my Studio83 visits. Their coherent, smart and fascinating conversations make for great company, and I have imagined fuelling them with red wine and having the most wonderful of times.
I’ve said it before; a man with a way with words deserves to be broken off a piece. So Mr. Vus and Mr. The Scribbler, I hope wherever you are in Mzansi, you are being adored.
